Reel of Fortune is a 5 reel, 20 payline video slot game with multidenominational coin wagers ranging from 1c to 25c per payline. This Rival Gaming video slot is loosely based on a few popular TV gameshows. It has a ‘host’ and two girls waiting to show you fabulous prizes you have won.
With the name Reel of Fortune, you would think it would closely resemble the Wheel of Fortune game show, but it is more reminiscent of The Price is Right with its Curtain Bonus Donkey round and the Plunko bonus game.
Some of the non triggering icons in the game are a charcoal grill, a mixer, a set of golf clubs, a console television, a green scooter, a blue refrigerator, a lime green washing machine, a boat, what looks to be a Ford Pinto, and a Winnebago.
One huge missing feature, I think, of Reel of Fortune, is the lack of a wild symbol and a free spin or scatter symbol.
The symbols within the game that will trigger bonus rounds are the Curtain and the ‘Plunko’ symbol. During the Curtain Donkey round you get to pick one of three curtains that either has a prize or a donkey behind it. Choosing the donkey, as I did, will end your bonus round, but I still managed to earn 1400 coins. That may seem like a lot of coins, but I am playing the max bet, which is 200 coins per spin, so 1400 coin win is only 7 free spins basically. The second time I had the Donkey Curtain bonus game; I was able to avoid the donkey for 3 picks and netted myself 8800 coins. Much better!
The Plunko game is quite similar to the ‘Plinko’ game of The Price is Right. You can win anywhere from 3000 to 10,000 coins (on max bet). In the center of the game board is the ‘nudge’ row. Once your Plunko chip hits that row, you can either nudge it to the left or to the right. You only get one Plunko chip to use no matter how many symbols appear on the play field.
Reel of Fortune is fun to play, just for the cool games in it, but I won’t spend too much time there because, as fun as it was to play, I think I lost more than I won and that isn’t a fun time. And I’m still not so thrilled about the lack of a wild symbol and no free spins here. If you are interested in trying Reel of Fortune, make sure you have at least 30 to 50x your max wager in your bankroll.
